Capturing the imagination of young minds

Welcome to Poppleton Ousebank Primary School

I would like to warmly welcome you and your child to Poppleton Ousebank Primary School. We are a successful and happy school, with a strong reputation for achieving high levels of academic success. We pride ourselves on our warm, friendly and fun atmosphere where our children thrive in a supportive and collaborative environment.

We cater for children aged between 3 and 11, and have approximately 450 pupils on roll, with the majority of pupils coming from the village of Poppleton and surrounding areas. Our school is set in extensive, attractive grounds that provide our children a wonderful place to not only play but learn about the world around them.

Our main aim is to ensure that all our children are safe, happy and enjoy school. We have high aspirations and strive to provide the best possible education for all children. We ensure every child can achieve their full potential, while making sure school is an exciting, enjoyable and memorable place to be. We encourage, support and challenge our children to become confident lifelong learners who achieve high standards in everything they do. There is much to celebrate in our school. Our school is a place where we ‘Capture the imagination of young minds’. A place where everyone shines with possibility.

Working together as a partnership, both with yourselves and the wider community, is key to developing a successful and happy school and we hope that you will work with us to ensure the best possible education for your child. We firmly believe that we can achieve greater things by working in partnership.

I look forward to welcoming you and your child and would encourage you to come and visit us to find out more about what makes this school and community so special. For further insight into all the great things at Poppleton School, please do take a look at Twitter @Ousebank | @LCollierpops
