Uniform

School Uniform

We very much appreciate parents’ support in ensuring that the children attend school smartly dressed and in the correct uniform. We regard this as a very important factor in the success of the school. We expect our children to take pride in their appearance and request that all items of clothing are clearly marked with the child’s full name.

We believe our school uniform:

  • Promotes a sense of pride in the school
  • Engenders a feeling of community and belonging
  • Is practical and smart
  • Identifies the children with the school
  • Is not distracting in class (as fashion clothes might be)
  • Makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance
  • Has been designed with health and safety in mind
  • Is regarded as suitable and good value for money by most parents

Children require:

  • school sweatshirt/cardigan with the school logo (no hoodies)
  • white cotton or polo shirt
  • dark grey trousers or skirt
  • black shoes (not boots or trainers)
  • grey socks or tights

In warmer weather, children may wear:

  • red and white summer dress
  • tailored grey shorts
  • ankle socks
P.E Kit

Children require:

  • a draw-string P.E bag
  • plain black shorts/skort
  • plain white T-shirt.
  • black indoor pumps
  • black tracksuit for outside games
  • trainers

No branded clothing items, e.g. football strips, branded sportswear e.g. Nike, Adidas

Please note that for health and safety reasons:

  • Jewellery must not be worn in school. However, if children have pierced ears, the smallest of studs may be worn. Studs must be removed for PE or covered with “micropore” tape (provided by parents).
  • Watches may be worn, but must be removed for PE.
  • Apple/smart watches are not permitted.
  • Flip flops, heeled shoes, ‘Crocs’ or open toed sandals are not permitted
  • All long hair must be tied back – hair accessories should be small and simple.
  • Nail varnish is not permitted.

Our PTA (Friends of POPS) hold a number of pre-loved uniform sales, on the playground, throughout the year.
